This year marks the 20th year working with our devoted Dr. Hari Babu. His medical career began in 1992 when he began serving as a Medical Missionary Doctor in the District of Mysore in the State of Karnataka, South India with Corner Stone Ministries.  Our founder, NJ Varughese, met him in 2008 and he shared the same desire to help those who were dying needlessly in the villages from treatable diseases. Together NJ and Dr. Hari Babu began putting together a medical team that could travel from village to village treating the poor and dying. They were able to equip this team with a medical bus, medical equipment and medicines to start the Mobile Unit that is now called our Rural Medical Services.

This team has traveled thousands of miles of miles throughout the northeastern region of India and to this day Dr. Hari Babu has personally treated over 130,000 villagers!  Dr. Hari Babu and his team have shared the importance of health education to hundreds of thousands beyond those they treated.  We are so thankful for his generous heart and dedication to serving the poor and dying. His gives all praise to the Lord as he quotes Colossians 1:29.

Last month the District Commissioner of the state of Jharkhand recognized Dr. Hari Babu at the Independence Day festivities in front of thousands of people for his work in humanitarian services.

The state government recognizes the amount of dedication and hard work that it takes to travel among the poorest of people to minister to their physical, emotional, and mental needs.  We also want to say a HUGE “Thank You” to Dr. Hari Babu and his lovely wife, Karuna (who trains the Community Health Leaders), for their devotion and hard work for the last 20 years.
